Price Publishing Groups help you group prices for publishing and distribution to the specified customers. Publishing groups are distinguished by the specified default end-of-day effective time for new prices.

You can use Price Publishing Groups to:

  • Group prices for publishing.
  • Assign a default effective time for the group.
  • In order to allow each analyst to publish prices for their areas separately, price groups can be defined by each analyst.
  • Separate natural business boundaries, such as geography or business line, so that prices can be set independently
  • There is no requirement to have more than one publishing group for a particular channel, if you wish to publish all the prices at once.

Price Publishing Group can contain prices for only one channel.  Prices within a publishing group must be for the same channel. For example, branded and unbranded prices cannot be in the same publishing group.
