Overview

Viewing your reports gives you an idea of how to stay competitive when pricing your products with key performance metrics. There are several different types of reports. Each can be used daily, or at your best convenience, to determine your best pricing opportunities.

Report types

Report Name Description
Volume Summary Provides historical or real-time sales to understand trends and for making pricing decisions.
Intraday Volume Defines hourly lifting patterns as input to pricing decisions and developing strategy. Identifies the relationships between your price, market prices and your sales volume.
Intraday Price Report Contains who is making changes in the middle of the day and the amounts. It outlines who is making intraday moves, and which suppliers are making them.
Competitor Price Report Provides a market overview for the terminals, products and suppliers you want to review. This report also allows you to compare your pricing position to other competitors in your selected market areas.
Margin Report Recaps pricing metrics for a particular day. This report is helpful for reviewing market position, rack positions and performance at the beginning of the day.
Sales Forecast Contains your uploaded sales forecast information and volume to allow you to track your sales activity versus planned.

Sales Forecast Upload

Prior to importing the Sales Forecast, you must download a Template Forecast File to use for upload of the CSV file. The first line of the file is reserved for the column headings.

The format used for your upload must match exactly the format in the template. It isn’t necessary to use this template each time if no new terminals or products have been added; simply build your Excel workbooks such that they end up summarizing the data in the template format.

  1. Click Download Template Forecast File.
  2. Click Open to view the file and enter information. The headings of the file columns and rows cannot be changed.
  3. Save the file on your computer as a CSV file.
  4. Within DTN Fuel Seller, open Sales Forecast Upload from the Reports menu.
  5. Click Browse to locate the saved file on your computer.
  6. Click Open to attach the file.
  7. Click Upload File to import the information in DTN Fuel Seller. This information displays the Sales Forecast report.
